Programs for Humans

Our programs are continually developing, evolving, and improving as we become able to offer additional modalities and see what works best for certain guest populations.

Participation in our Local Community

We take pleasure in supporting and participating in local events. Three young volunteers Kylee S., BreAna N. and Katie G. did a fine job of representing the Sanctuary at the annual Pet Parade in downtown Silverton on May 21, 2011.

Tiny Jazzy and Jethro quickly shed the (for them) over-sized Sanctuary banners, and proceeded to have a great time schmoozing with the crowd and fellow marchers.

Goat Care 101

This on-going class series is aimed at arming goat owners (and prospective goat owners) with knowledge that will keep their goats happy and healthy, and NOT in need of rescue. CLICK HERE to learn more about these classes.

Rescue Operations

The Silver Creek Animal Sanctuary works closely with other organizations, among them Farm Sanctuary, to identify and rescue farm animals trapped in abusive situations. Many animals whose health or temperment have been so degraded as to cause them to be considered unadoptable find a new beginning at Silver Creek Animal Sanctuary.

While priority is given to the most critical cases, the Sanctuary also accepts animals who must be re-homed due to changes in their family's situation. Because the additional expense of providing for re-homed animals puts a signficant burden on our already lean budget, we ask that you help out by supporting your goats or llamas with a lifetime sponsorship of just $25 a month. If you'd like, we will keep you updated on their activity and welfare.

If you need to place a goat or llama with us email us at with basic information and we will get back to you within 24 hours.

CLICK HERE to download the Sanctuary Intake Form that must accompany all animals at the time of their arrival.

What happens to animals that come to the Sanctuary?

Healthy, well-tempered animals may be adopted out to carefully screened and educated new guardians. The rest live out their lives in peace and safety. Food is nutritious and plentiful, medical issues are dealt with promptly, affection is given freely.
