Rewarding volunteer opportunity
On Jan. 1, I spent the afternoon with 87 goats, 14 cats, seven llamas and two delightful young women at the Silver Creek Animal Sanctuary.
In November 2010, I volunteered to financially sponsor Tia, one of the beautiful goats living at the Sanctuary. Their mission is to provide a learning and healing environment with the animals for special needs children and adults. They are a non-profit organization and they need your help.
The Sanctuary is located very close to The Oregon Garden. The aforementioned delightful women, Troy and her daughter Kama, can be reached at (503) 873-9819, or P.O. Box 212, Silverton. If you can't afford to provide any financial assistance, they would welcome your help with feeding the animals or just providing them with the human companionship that they love.
