Meet Big Boy
Big Boy is big in every way. On the outside, he is a 300-lb black, (imagine a ton of onyx, only soft and curly) wethered goat. His ears defy his face, plunging down almost to his chest, (can you hear me now?) we refer to his ears as "pony tails". Big Boy hangs with the big boys, Maurice, Pascal, Bart and Brett (as in, "Maverick"), Francis, Phillipe, and Harley; ramming each other for laughs, jostling trees for cherries, scratching each other's backs, and being an example of Brotherly Love to anyone who bothers to bear witness to what life can be: joyous, engaging, ridiculously profound…
Big Boy from the inside is a big baby! When Big Boy needs the occasional shot he cries for his momma, (Matilda) and she comes a running on all three of her hoofs. Matilda had a tumor in one of her hooves that was removed by Dr. Zellmer, at Oregon State University (thank you Dr. Zellmer!) Big Boy sleeps with his momma every night and when Matilda was recuperating from surgery and required to be isolated in a pen free of anything but soft straw, Big Boy came and laid himself down on the wild side of her pen. Laid himself down for his momma, laid aside his goat escapades to sleep, to tend, to adore his momma. Inside and out Big Boy is a goat worthy of sponsoring!
Why Sponsor a Goat? Now that you think about it, doesn't Big Boy remind you of a certain macho male friend who parties hearty with his friends, but is none the less an attentive and caring son? We'd be happy to help you set up a sponsorship in his honor!
What Will It Cost? The cost of maintaining a goat for a month averages $85. This includes food, vitamins, staff costs and vet routine examinations. It does NOT include specific vet visits for emergencies or the costs of housing, property. We ask that goat sponsors commit to a donation of $25 per month for at least six months.
Is a Goat Sponsorship Tax-deductible? Yes, because we are a 501(c)(3) organization, all donations in support of a goat are 100% tax deductible.
