Donate Funds
We gratefully accept donations of any size. You may direct your gift toward:
- The Cement Fund. Cleaning the current mud and dirt flooring of the barn areas where the goats eat and sleep is extremely difficult. Our goal is to replace that flooring with concrete. This would enable us to hose down those areas, proactively reducing the risk of disease and parasites.
- Wherever the Need is Greatest. This will go directly to animal care, including food, vet bills, animal structures and other needs. The cost of maintaining a goat for a month averages $85. This includes food, vitamins, staff costs and vet routine examinations. It does NOT include specific vet visits for emergencies, etc. $85 times 87 goats and 7 llamas....ouch!

Buy Products Produced at the Sanctuary
Attention Fiber Art Enthusiasts! The Silver Creek Animal Sanctuary will finance its programs as much as possible through the sale of organically grown produce and wool raised at the Sanctuary. Raw, washed, but otherwise unprocessed mohair from our very own Angora goats is now available for purchase. Raw mohair is typically sold for $10-$18 per pound, but we ask only that you pay what you can – and that you remember that this money goes directly to support our four-footed family. Call 503-873-9818 for more information. |

Gardeners, Have We Got a Deal for You!You may not be aware that llama manure is a highly-desirable organic soil conditioner/enhancer. Llama "beans" (an apt nickname, as shown in the photo at the right) can be used directly in your garden without danger of burning plants, though if you are using them on food crops you may choose to compost them first. CLICK HERE to read more about this in the article Alpaca & Llama Manure Benefits, published in The Camelid Quarterly, June 2008. We can help you scoop the beans into your vehicle or container, but otherwise this is a self-serve operation. How much will they cost? We ask only that you pay what you can – and that you remember that this money goes directly to support our four-footed family. Call 503-873-9818 for more information. |
